Governor Little vetoed HB 314, the library bill. We want to stand in support of the Governor and assure our communities that we are also against pornography given to minors, but the bill could be interpreted in many different ways. This will mean that sine die may take. Little longer, but exciting that the governor is looking out for education.

Happy Wednesday! We were hoping this would be the last day of the 2023 legislature, but with the Governor's veto of H 292, things will go through this week and maybe a little longer. We are grateful for the direction of the Governor and his attempt to help us with the March election date. We are also waiting on the education appropriations budgets. Only a handful of things left to take care of. Thank you for all that have reached out to legislators this year. Will keep you posted as things hopefully come to a close.

Happy Wednesday! House Ed had on the agenda to hear S1161, Empowering Parents ESA bill, it was pulled late last night and talking to the bill sponsor this morning, sounds like it will stay in committee this year and be done!! I believe this is ESA 4 or 5 this year, so while not celebrating, it is a huge win because with the Legislature trying to wrap up, there shouldn't be time to run anything new. With that said, we have two more tax exemption bills that are out there that would give a tax credit to families that pay for private school tuition. Will keep you posted on that. HB314, Library book bill is being debated in Senate State Affairs right now. Listen live at: https://www.idahoptv.org/shows/idahoinsession/ww55/
