Happy Friday! January 12 and the first week of the Idaho state legislature is wrapping up. While there were not too many things that have come out in the form of an "RS" there were a couple. An RS is a “routing slip” number used by the Legislature to identify draft legislation that the committees vote on to see if they want to give it a bill number and send it through the rest of the process. In House State Affairs, we have two RS's on library material, one from Rep. Crane and one from Rep. Dixon. Both are going to be printed and given a bill number some time next week. I will keep you updated on those two when they become bills and we get to hear them. The other noteworthy RS that took place was in House Ed, we have an RS that will become a bill on streamlining the charter school process. As soon as we have copies of these bills we will get them out and keep everyone updated. Not too much to report out at the end of week one. Winter storms are getting people out early today and I hope everyone has a great weekend and stay indoors and warm!
